Introducing Introductory Courses and Individual Collaborations

Just as the new year invites us to explore fresh beginnings, Common Light is excited to share two new ways to collaborate: Introduction Courses and Individual Collaborations.

Both offerings support individuals in developing a practice of contemplative collaboration—an approach to organizational leadership that begins with the human being. We recognize each person’s unique purpose and honor everyone’s innate capacity to support the flourishing of all life—plant, animal, and human.

Whether you're working in business, non-profits, or public service—at any level from emerging professional to senior leader—there exists an infinite reservoir of creativity in you and those around you, offering to serve your shared purpose and the broader ecosystem you inhabit.

Understanding how to identify and collaborate with this collective source of creativity requires developing new capacities, such as attention, positivity, equanimity, openness, trust, and more. By strengthening our contemplative and collaborative abilities, we can further our purpose and reduce the effects of common experiences such as procrastination, fear, doomscrolling, and stress—challenges that rely on these abilities to stay dormant. Common Light provides the space and time for people to cultivate these capacities together.

Here’s an overview of our offerings:

1. Introduction to Common Light Courses: Join us for four weekly sessions exploring Common Light's living framework and practices. The interactive course covers the fundamentals of contemplative collaboration, teaching you how to strengthen your attention, recognize and nurture your own purpose and others, and lead from a place of abundance. Through nature observation, contemplation, and collaborative exercises, you'll develop practical skills for flourishing leadership. Here’s the upcoming schedule with links to register:

   1. February 4 - February 25: Tuesdays, 9:00-10:30AM PT

   2. March 4 - March 25: Tuesdays, 9:00-10:30AM PT

   3. April 1 - April 22: Tuesdays, 9:00-10:30AM PT

   4. May 6 - May 27: Tuesdays, 9:00-10:30AM PT

   5. June 3 - June 24: Tuesdays, 9:00-10:30AM PT

   6. July 1 - July 22: Tuesdays, 9:00-10:30AM PT

2. Individual Collaborations: For those who have completed an Intro Course and wish to deepen their practice, we offer six-month to one-year, one-on-one collaborations based on the Flourishing Leaders program. This program allows you to explore contemplative collaboration more deeply and apply it to your specific context. You can schedule an exploratory call here.

Looking ahead, I plan to announce additional opportunities such as Team Collaborations, Nature Workshops, and Facilitator Trainings later this year. For now, I'm focusing on running our Flourishing Leaders pilot program and providing a strong foundation through our overview course. A note about platform changes: This will be my final post via Co-Illuminations on Substack.
